AM5728: EMAC interfaces

A customer I'm supporting has been looking at the datasheet for the AM5728, and is curious about the dual GMACs. The datasheet shows only 1 MAC and a 3 port switch, and he is wondering if this means that there two MAC addresses? I've looked in the TRM and section 24.11.4.8.5.2 mentions a Dual MAC Mode, and table 18-271 mentions a bit field that "contains the last three octets (NIC specific) of the MAC address of the GMAC_SW port 0" and table 18-275 referencing the MAC address of the GMAC_SW port 1.

Would someone be able to verify that there are two MAC addresses, or the number of interfaces the driver gives us?

The CPSW can be configured in Dual EMAC mode, with each EMAC having its own unique MAC address. Each device has factory programmed unique MAC addresses.

That switch seems to open up some interesting possibilities. I found this in another doc "CPSW is a gigabit switch which supports PTP 1588 v2". So I know TI provides the software to do HSR on the PRUSS'es at 100M. Where do I get the software to do it using the CPSW at Gigbit rates!

oops ... there should be a minimum separation required on acronyms!

So what are you asking about - PTP or HSR-PRP-DAN?

Sorry I didn't make that too clear.

I need both, but it looks like it may have hardware support for PTP but for HSR-PRP-DAN I will either need to go with the PRUSS at 100M or an external solution for Gigabit.

I appreciate you prompt response despite the poorly worded questions.

You are correct that the PRUSS at 100M has support for HSR-PRP. On the CPSW ports the HSR-PRP can be supported at the kernel network level only, this means that message latency is greatly increased.
