CCS/AM5728: Timers available for M4

Hello.

I found this problem in a project so I created a SysBios project in CCS and I tried to add two timers from the configuration file and this is the result:

The question is : is there only one timer available for Cortex M4 ? And this restriction holds even in case that M4 is the only running core ?

Hi Scianni,

Which version of SYS/BIOS are you using? Can you please try to use the timer ID specified in the document ti/bios_6_46_05_55/docs/cdoc/ti/sysbios/timers/dmtimer/doc-files/TimerTables.html, see ti.catalog.arm.cortexm4, DRA7XX.

thank you for your support : I'm using BIOS ver 6.46.5.55 contained in AM57xx SDK ver 4.0.0.4.

I followed your hint using Timer ID contained in the document you indicated but nothing changed: I attached a zipped file containing a code example showing the problem.

Hi Scianni,

I can reproduce the issue with your project. Instead of using the cfg file to create timer, were you able to workaround the issue by directly using the Timer_create( ) function as described in BIOS user guide 8.3 Timer module ?

timer2 = Timer_create(Timer_ANY, myIsr, &timerParams, &eb);
