Linux/AM5728: Video playback in reverse

We are using AM5728 to capture video and audio data . a video file is stored after compression and muxing. one of our requirement is to have negative playback rate(backward play).

can anyone help us in finding supported encoder /decoder + muxer/demuxer combination. currently we are using H.264 and mpegtsmux . this combination is not working for backward playback.

If you are using gstreamer this could be archived only in gstreamer application.

Please try to set enc's property intra-interval=1 also.

we tried with intra-interval=1 but it is not working. Is there any alternate muxer and encoder in gstreamer which support negative playrates?

Hello,

Could you post the pipeline that you are using and on which you want to perform backward? Is this decoding or encoding?

HI,

transmission on on the 1st AM5728EVM: v4l2src -> vpe->ducatih264enc->h264parse->mpegtsmux->rtpmp2tpay->udpsink

Receiving on the 2nd AM5728 EVM: udpsrc->filesink

playback on 2nd AM5728: filesrc ->tedemux->h264parse->ducatih264dec->vpe->kmssink

we have implemented the pipelines in C

we are using gst_element_seek to control the playrate

But you are doing trying seek on the decoding pipeline right? This one:
filesrc ->tedemux->h264parse->ducatih264dec->vpe->kmssink

i think only some mux elements supports fastfarward/fastbackward . please suggest compatible gstreamer elements

Hello,

You could try to replace with avi or mp4 for example. If still does not work you could try to replace our codecs with software codec.
If still does not work probably there is a mistake in your code.
