Hi All,

Iam selecting a processor for my design and AM3357 meets my requirements.

Its going to Aerospace design.

I have made sure by reading the reliability report that MTBF at 105C TJ 1.796x 10^8 which is ok for me.

Any concerns?

I have to do thermal analysis to see if i will reach that Tj.

Very rare possibility for my ambient high of +70C and 0.7W of Total power consumption.Difficult to do this is arch stage.

Can somebody chirp in your thoughts?

Can you elaborate further on your exact use-case?
Usually for aerospace use-case customers seem to choose our Hi Rel products, so if you are not familiar with that offering, I would recommend browsing through the following ti.com pages

AM335x is offered in hi rel (enhanced product) and you may want to evaluate that vs the catalog AM3357 offering to see which one meets your need.

Looks like you are ok with the MTBF and total power data. What additional inputs are you looking for?

Thank you Biser and the Tj without considering ambient injection in to case come around 80-90degC for an assumed ThetaCA for ZCS package.

Any history data of being used in aerospace would increase my confidence while design.

I did see AM3358-EP which was 2X costlier ,40$(which has 3D,2D accel which i wont require).
I would require co processor for handling Rs-485 interrupts with Software GPI.

An optimal selection landed me in AM3357.

1.Any history of product application?
2. I understand they AM3358-EP & AM3357 are same package.
Any differences at pin level than 3D acceleration and 2 PRU. (sorry i didnt go in detail to check at pin level).
Any doc available?

We would likely not be able to publish anything on public forum in terms of "history of product application" and use in aerospace. I consider this to be information that we share under NDA.

On feature set comparison you should be able to find this in the Am335x datasheet and is likely your best source to dig further.
3D accel does not have any pins , PRU does have pins which will be mux'd with other pins.

Let me get done after my review. I shall keep it resolved for now.

Also wanted to make you aware of standard docs like the following from Hi Rel team

Once you have more specifics, perhaps they may have something more specific on AM335x that they can share (will need to check with them on NDA vs no NDA)
