Hello, TI Experts,

Our customer sent us a question about "SPI-Flash read/write" with PROCESSOR-SDK-RTOS-AM335x with TMDSICE3359.

They want to know how to create the code for SPI-Flash read/write on the TMDSICE3359.

Question:

- Are there any sample code such as CCS sample project for SPI-Flash read/write on the TMDSICE3359?

We would appreciate if you tell us the recommended way to create the code for SPI-Flash read/write on the TMDSICE3359.

Matusan,

There are multiple examples to read and write from SPI flash on ICEAM335x platform in the Processor SDK RTOS.

MCSPI driver example

The MCSPI example for flash read and write is found here:

pdk_am335x_1_0_xx\packages\ti\drv\spi\test\mcspi_serial_flash\src

Please generate CCS project using PdkProjectCreate and locate the documentation here:

http://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-rtos/esd/docs/latest/rtos/index_device_drv.html#spi

This example may not be reading the entire flash but only demonstrate read and write from single sector on the flash.

MCSPI flash writer:

The flash writer is designed to write boot images to flash and erase flash on AM335x ICE platform. The source for this is located here

Our customer sent us additional question.

They tried to run "MCSPI_BasicExample_icev2AM335x_armExampleProject" on TMDSICE3359.

But they found "FAIL" message like below.

And we don't find proper information about "MCSPI_BasicExample" in the below wiki site.

But we found "pass" message by "Short pins 1 and 2 on header J14" like the guide

"MCSPI_Serializer Example application" in the wiki link info.

Question:

Is it proper way to run "MCSPI_BasicExample_icev2AM335x_armExampleProject"

by "Short pins 1 and 2 on header J14" like "MCSPI_Serializer Example application"?
