TMS320C6657: DDR3 leveling has failed,STATUS = 0x40000064

Part Number: TMS320C6657

Hello Champs,

Customer designed his own C6657 board, but it failed in DDR3 leveling test.

It prompted "DDR3 leveling has failed,STATUS = 0x40000064"

1. Customer ensured the DDR configuration in PHY Calc excel are all correct.

2. Some boards failed, some boards were ok.

When DDR3 leveling failed, the peak to peak for 0.75v VTT can reach max. 20mv, when DDR3 leveling passed, the peak to peak for 0.75v VTT is correct (about several mV).

Questions:

1. Does the VTT voltage cause the DDR Leveling time out?

2. What range of VTT is allowed for DDR leveling?

Thanks.

  • Hi Shine,

Not sure if there is a relation between VTT pk-to-pk noise and ddr3 leveling. However, recommendations in the Datasheet and the User Guides MUST be followed strictly in order to guarantee correct device operation.

Besides the schematic, I advise you to check the PCB design (related to ddr) as well (make sure trace lengths and timings are correct).

    Best Regards,
