AM4378: EtherCAT support

Part Number: AM4378
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM4377,

Dear community,

We are considering to change the processor on our custom board from AM4377BDZN80 to AM4378BZDNA100.
On the device description page of the AM4378BZDNA100, it is stated that this device supports EtherCAT. The AN sprach6b, however, states that only AM4377/9 support EtherCAT, and the processor datasheet states that AM4378 includes only basic network protocols.
Can you please kindly confirm if AM4378 supports EtherCAT?
And will changing the frequency from 800 MHz to 1 GHz require additional hardware changes (in the power sequence for example)? We are using the discrete power solution for AM437x as proposed in slvuab1a. In this AN it is written that this solution supports MPU clock frequencies up to 600 MHz. With the 800MHz processor, it still works. Do you think there are any concerns using the same solution for the 1GHz processor?

Thank you in advance!

Best,

Liliane
