As I do not have SD card,i want to boot TDA4EVM by u disk

But I only find SD card boot introduce in Processor SDK RTOS Automotive 06_02_00,nothing about USB boot

There are document about USB boot for me,Thanks

Hi,

If you are talking of DFU Boot it is supported:

In the above link refer to j721e section.

We do not supoort USB disk boot on TDA4VM. The supported boot modes are:
MMC SD, eMMC, UART, OSPI. QSPI can also be tried with some more patches
on top.

TDA4EVM do not support USB disk boot?

Now,i want to use Prebuilt PSDKRA.it is only introduced by SD boot:

As I do not have SD card,any other way introduced for me to boot Prebuilt PSDKRA

Hi,

To boot Prebuilt PSDKRA the only option is SD Boot.

If you want to build on your own OSPI and UART boot is supported.

now，i download uboot to ospi flash,uboot can run normally,i can enter into uboot env.

I wan to test usb storage,i can boot kernel and rootfs from u disk in this situation?

how to set uboot env param?

Hi,

Good to see the progress. If you can run the setup.sh file in the PSDKLA.

You should choose options for tftp and nfs. So all the boot images are kept in tftp folder
and the file system is mounted over nfs.

Once you have that ready.

Can you try the below bootargs from u-boot prompt?

setenv bootargs console=ttyS2,115200n8 earlycon=ns16550a, root=/dev/nfs rw nfsroot=ip_addr:/home/a0393675//work/nfs/am6,tcp,v3 ip=dhcp
setenv bootcmd "setenv autoload no; dhcp;setenv serverip ip_addr;tftp 0x82000000 Image; tftp 0x81200000 k3-j721e-common-proc-board.dtb; booti 0x82000000 - 0x81200000"
saveenv
boot

Replace ip_addr with your server IP Address where tftp and nfs is created.

Let me know if you can boot to kernel with this.

In the above please check "Enabling USB 3.0 host port on J721e EVM" section.

You need to do the specified DT change to get Host mode.

Since U-Boot does not support dynamic switching of USB roles, below DT fragment needs to be applied and U-Boot image needs to be rebuilt to make USB0 port to be USB 3.0 host port.
