AM3354: Future updates of Processor SDK Linux

Part Number: AM3354
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PROCESSOR-SDK-AM335X

Hi,

Processor SDK Linux update seems to have stopped at 2020/Apr.

Is there any plan to update it in the future?
Do you have any plans to implement Linux kernel v5.x?
I've heard that the SDK is updated once every quarter, what is the reason why it has stopped being updated?

Best Regards,
UNA

As our software offerings become feature complete, like AM335x, the need to update quarterly diminishes as there are no new features to release. We will then plan to migrate to at least a yearly release to update to the latest offerings from open source (new LTS Linux kernel, U-Boot, Yocto version, toolchains, etc.). These releases will likely come in the 2 - 3 Qtr each year.

I hope this addresses your questions clearly. Thank you.

  • Hi RonB,

    Thank you for your reply.
I was relieved to hear that there are plans for an update.
I am looking forward to the new SDK release.
