66AK2G12: Secure boot info

Part Number: 66AK2G12

Hi Guys,

My customer who is going to production with the K2G12 later this year has the following question:

Currently, our board boots up from loading 2nd bootloader and ROTS application in QSPI flash. We also want to do the firmware upgrade in the field through a USB thumb drive.

How can we do secure boot?

The link below talking about secure boot with “Processor SDK RTOS SECDEV release available in the 2Q17 time frame”

https://e2e.ti.com/support/dsp/c6000_multi-core_dsps/f/639/t/588607

Based on K2G data sheet, it supports High-Secure Device. Can you help me to find secure boot information?

Thanks,

Brian

  • Brian,

It is unclear if the customer really needs secure boot or just secure software upgrade when product is in the field.

The High Secure (HS) version of the chip is required for secure boot and this device. The device offers JTAG lock down, IP protection using authenticated and encrypted boot, Hardware based secure keys and firewalls for different regions on the chip. This version of the device is supported using SECDEV software and security collateral that is provided through mySecureSoftware and is not supported using public E2E forums.

Please contact us offline and provide the usecase for security in your customer application and we can help provide access to training, user guide collateral and Secure software.

    Regards,
    Rahul
