[FAQ] PROCESSOR-SDK-J721E: How to use DRU channels for config data in VISS

Please follow below steps to use DRU channels in the VISS driver.

• Apply attached patch on top of ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j721e-evm-08_02_00_05\pdk_jacinto_08_02_00_21 folder to enable support DRU channels in VISS driver.
• In the file ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j721e-evm-08_02_00_05\vision_apps\utils\hwa\src\app_hwa.c, enable DRU channels from the application, as show below
  • /* Set configThroughUDMA to true to support multi handle */
    initPrms.configThroughUdmaFlag = true;
    initPrms.useDru = true;
• By default, there are two DRU channels allocated for MCU2_0. This patch will one of the DRU channel. If required, allocated additional DRU channels for MCU2_0, as explained in https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1097038/faq-tda4vm-workflow-and-resource-allocation-build-flow-for-sysconfig-tool
• If using SBL boot flow,
  • comment out the call to setup_main_r5f_qos in the file PSDKLA/board-support/u-boot-2021.01+gitAUTOINC+44a87e3ab8-g44a87e3ab8/arch/arm/mach-k3/j721e_init.c
  • Rebuild uboot and SPL files
  • Copy newly uboot and SPL files BOOT partition of the SD card.
• If using SBL boot flow,
  • comment out call to setup_main_r5f_qos in ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j721e-evm-08_02_00_05\pdk_jacinto_08_02_00_21\packages\ti\boot\sbl\soc\k3\sbl_qos.c
  • rebuild SBL and copy updated SBL to SD card
• Rebuild vision apps and run it on the EVM.
