beaglebone (AM3559) with USB camera

Hi,

I try to connect USB camera with beaglebone (AM3559). From many suggestion in google groups's beagleboard forum,
I try recompiling the Linux kernel with disable DMA (CONFIG_MUSB_PIO_ONLY=y)
after that, I can get just only 320x240 pixel from USB camera (with no DMA speed).

This problem seems come from the MUSB driver's level, right?
Could you please tell me, how TI plan to manage with this problem?

hi sorat, i am facing the same problem than you. i am trying to use opencv to get images from a camera connected to beaglebone, but it is not working.

did you fix the problem with the solution you described? if so, can you tell me the steps you followed?

Hi Gus

As I know, no need to do it anymore.

Just use the update version of ubuntu on your beaglebone. (http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardUbuntu#BeagleBone_2)

thanks a lot for the info.

i have a question though, if i download the version 12.04 of ubutnu, can you still do the same things that with the distro that comes with beaglebone? (such controlling gpio, pwm, etc)
