Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3874
Hello,
Are there any plans to update the Linux kernel to 3.x for the AM389X-AM387X processors (currently still on 2.6.37 since 2012)?
Is this family compatible with Beaglebone processor?
Best regards,
David.

No plans.
I think you are talking about Beaglebone board, not processor...and the processor used there is from AM335x family, that even it is Cortex-A8, there are a lot of different peripherals...
Please check with your local sales representative for alternatives.
Hi Rogerio,
I'm not talking about the Beagleboard since we use a custom built board around AM3874 processor. It is quite a disappointment if there are no plans, we thought this family would be compatible to Beagleboard processors when we selected this one, it has more peripherals we need.
I guess it's easier to upgrade the processor since production hasn't started then.
Best regards,
David.
