we are changing the design to support 10” LCD, this design is with AM3354. Most of the 10” LCDs are with LVDS interface, we are planning to use SN75LVDS83B or SN75LVDS83C RGB LVDS transmitter along with AM3354.

We searched for reference design for LVDS LCD interfaced with AM335x with using LVDS converter to intrrface with LVDS LCD, but was not successful.

Is there any reference design for LVDS LCD interfaced with AM3354?

There is no reference design with LVDS, but check this wiki page: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/LCD_connectivity#Connection_to_LVDS_LCDs . It applies for AM335X too.

Dear Biser Gatchev,

I checked schematic for an LVDS daughter card and LVDS LCD connectivity document. It was helpul and I understood how to Interface AMS335x with LVDS LCD. But i did not understood how LVDS LCD voltages and backlight voltages are generated. Is there any reference design for power section of LVDS LCD.

No, this is not processor-related. It's up to you to design the display power supplies.

TI does not manufacture LCD panels. I cannot recommend third-party products, sorry.

Hello Bhairu,

For a 10" display, you can also go with the RGB type LCDs. I have used the Sharp LQ104V1DG52 for going from HDMI to an LCD.

Depending on the quantity you need, you may want to consider using old laptop LCD screens from 12" to 14". They are all basically the same LVDS connection. It is usually cheaper to buy a used laptop and remove the screen rather than buy the screen alone.

All the laptop LCDs are 3.3V for the LCD driver and you can use the backlight driver from the laptop.

The Sharp RGB LCD requires 12V to drive the LCD and a separate backlight driver. I believe there are some fluorescent backlight driver example circuits from TI. There are plenty of examples on the web.
