Can not compile any CSL projects on CCS v6.1

I went through all of the posts and related documents but none of the CSL projects are compiling on my CCS v6.

I installed XDS tools, DSP/BIOS.

I am getting the following error for Project 'C55XXCSL_LP'.

Buildfile generation error occurred..
Referenced project 'atafs_bios_drv_lib' does not exist in the workspace. Project 'C55XXCSL_LP' may not build as expected.
Build stopped..

Hi,

Looks like 'atafs_bios_drv_lib' doesn't exists in the workspace. Have you followed the procedure mentioned in the CSL installation guide to install CSL 3.04 package.

Could you let us know the device and the hardware that you are using.

Also, hope you have followed the instruction to install DSP BIOS mentioned in this wiki page - http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Category:Steps_to_install_BIOS/DSP_in_CCS6_and_Run_C55xx_CSL_examples?keyMatch=ccs6&tisearch=Search-EN

Hello, I am using C5515 eZdsp stick. I am not able to compile any example projects that came with eZdsp stick package either.

In csl_general.h I commented out

#define CHIP_5517 in Part 1
#define C5517_EVM in Part 3
#define C5515_EVM in Part 3

Uncommented
//#define C5515_EZDSP in Part 3

Is there anything needs to be done for using C5515 eZdsp apart from saving the changes above ?

Hi,

This is fine, but the error you are getting is something else which is basically 'atafs_bios_drv_lib' is not found in the workspace.

Could you just try only comment C5517 #define CHIP_5517 in genera.h then in CCS6 goto project menu and select build all. Let me know what you see in compilation.

Also, could you share the snapshot capturing project explorer in CCS6. I just curious to check on your installation.

HI, I tried only commenting CHIP_5517.

Now, I have a slightly different error !

I think these are the errors,

Could Not Find C:\c55_lp\c55xx_csl\ccs_v5.0_examples\C55XXCSL_LP\Debug\C55XXCSL_LP.lib
Could Not Find C:\c55_lp\c55xx_csl\ccs_v5.0_examples\C55XXCSL_LP\Debug\csl_audioClass.pp
Could Not Find C:\c55_lp\c55xx_csl\ccs_v5.0_examples\C55XXCSL_LP\Debug\csl_audioClass.obj
Could Not Find C:\c55_lp\c55xx_csl\ccs_v5.0_examples\C55XXCSL_LP\Debug\csl_irqplug.pp

Am I supposed to have these files ? I checked in the folders and they don't exist.

I see compiler issue messages, Which compiler version is selected could you check . The correct version is 4.4.1

Also confirm DSP BIOS version being selected. Could you select version 5.41.2.14.

Before, 4.3.9 was selected I changed to 4.4.1 and re-compiled the compiler warning is gone but still gives error.
The DSP BIOS version is already set to 5.41.2.14.

Suggest you to creat new workspace, and try compile again. I tried with CCS6 version & CCS3.04 and all example compiles clean.

Hi,
Based on the discussion that we had, Looks like your old workspace had issue (.metadata) .When tried with the new workspace and importing the CSL examples to CCS6.0 the problem went away.
With this the current issue you had is resolved.Regards Vasanth
