i would like to ask a follow-up question about the PROFINET samples on the ICEv2.
My previous question :
Q: I read somewhere that extensive PROFINET applications will have to be self written as the sample application is just....well an example. Where could I go to read up on basic stuff that I can try out through simple modifications of the sample main.c? Say for example a simple program for evaluating a temperature sensor's readings...
A: Yes, we only provide a basic example and real applications need to be written by the customer. If you need help on using the PROFINET stack please contact Molex. Basic examples will work out of the box (of course using an appropriate PROFINET controller inside a PLC).
Follow-up Q: If an application for said function is written, will a specifically catered PROFINET stack still need to be purchased from the provider to get the app to work with a Profinet Master/Controller? Basically, the provided stack is limited to the sample only and thus only covers the basic stuff, did i understand correctly in this regard?
