TMS320C6678: DDR3(ECC) on C6678EVM

Hi Champs,

According to C6678 EVM TRM below, the EVM has DDR3(ECC) on it. But the DDR3(ECC) is not installed on the EVM.
So, could you please let me clarify why the DDR3(ECC) is not installed?

Hi j-breeze,

While the EVM was designed to support the use of an ECC memory, it was not included in the assembly of the board. This is reflected in the schematic and the bom for the board. In addition to reducing the cost of the board, the ECC wasn't required by the software release supported by the EVM.

Hi j-breeze,

I'm not sure what you mean by checking the ECC memory. There is sample code that enables the ECC but I don't know if there is any test code to force an error.
