Now I assume that the payload on our custom board is so heavy , so I want to measure the bandwidth of DDR on L3_MAIN_BUS,is there any tool to help us?

Hi,

There are L3 Statistic collectors in the device to measure DDR Bandwidth. Using CCS you should be able to measure the DDR bandwidth. Details regarding how to enable L3 statistics collectors using CCS is highlighted in Section 7 of www.ti.com/.../sprac17b.pdf

besides CCS through JTAG , Is there any tool which can run on my custom board so that I can collect L3 statistic while I am running my code？

Hi,

What is the software you are running on your system?

Vision SDK utilizes the Ctools libraries to create a statistics collector utility with which you can measure DDR bandwidth. Similar utility is available in the user space for Linux as well.

Hi,

Vision-SDK 2.09 included GLSDK 7.03 as the Linux SDK. There's a tool available in the file-system to calculate DDR bandwidth. You can find information on how to use the tool using the link below.

when I execute glsdkstalcoll as follows
./glsdkstatcoll -f config.ini
such a error comes:

NOTE: STATCOLL is not enabled, ignoring EMIF_PERF_CFG2
NOTE: BANDWIDTH is not enabled, ignoring TOTAL_TIME
NOTE: BANDWIDTH is not enabled, ignoring INTERVAL_US

COMPLETED: Parsing of the user specified parameters..

Configuring device now..

STATISTICS COLLECTOR option chosen

ERROR: Unknown initiator
so How can I fix this？

Hi,

Few questions:

a. Could you please share the initiators.cfg file that is present in the directory from which you are running the command
"./glsdkstatcoll -f config.ini" ?

b. Please also specify the device (J6/J6-Eco...) that you are using.

c. SDK version/Kernel version would be useful as well.

Hi Karthik,

I had meet the same problem now.

I use tda2hx with vision sdk 2.12 ( linux kernel 4.4). the glsdkstallcoll use config file as follow, which are default file from filesystem.

initiators.cfghttps://e2e.ti.com/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/791/config.ini

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hi Sid,

Can you please remove the following two lines from initiators.cfg and retry the command?

a. Remove STATCOL_VIP3_P1 and STATCOL_VIP3_P2
b. Rerun command "./glsdkstatcoll -f config.ini"
