Hi,

Where can I get a sample LED toggle code for GPIO led in ARM. I am fresher in this area. I am using ICEv2AM335x board.

SDK version - ti-processor-sdk-linux-rt-am335x-evm-04.00.00.04

CCS verison -7.3

OS - Ubuntu 16.04LTS

Hi Paramesh,

There are different ways to toggle GPIO depending on whether do this in user space or in kernel space but the linked below resources will give you advise for both cases:

Thanks for support. I am going through the link you have given. I just want one more clarification. Where can I find C code to toggle the gpio led in linux?

Hi,

I am trying to run the gpio.c file you suggested from Code Composer Studio. Can you help me with the exact path location of the gpio.h file in the SDK.

SDK version- ti-processor-sdk-linux-rt-am335x-evm-04.00.00.04

Hi,
Thanks for your support.
I have taken the gpio.c , gpio.h and main.c files from the link that you have provided.(github.com/.../gpio.c). I am using CCS v7.3 in linux.
This is what I have done:-
1) New project in CCS
2) Add Files -> gpio.c
Add Files -> gpio.h
Add Files -> main.c

I am trying to build this. But there are some errors.
I am attaching the screenshot of the error log with this post. Is my approach right ? Or is there any better way of doing this ?
I am using the userspace driver.
I am using ICEv2AM335x board.

Hi,
Although I was not successful in doing it using CCS , I was able to successsfully cross-compile the files that you had given me in the link (github.com/.../gpio.c ) from the terminal . I copied the output file to the root partition of my SD card. But when I am trying to run it the message says
Cannot set pin mode: Permission denied .
What am I missing ? Is it related to the dtb file I am using ?
My driver is in the UserSpace.
I am using ICEv2AM335x board.
OS - Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
SDK - ti-processor-sdk-linux-rt-am335x-evm-04.00.00.04

1) Which dtb file should I use - am335x-icev2-pru-excl-uio.dtb or am335x-icev2.dtb ?

2) In the example given to me , if my understanding is right we are trying to turn on the USR2 LED.
In the am335x.h file attached with that link the USR2LED is "GPIO1_23" . Is this for BeagleBone or AM335xicev2 ?
So what is the pin number in my case ?
