Linux/PROCESSOR-SDK-AM335X: Timer access from userspace

Part Number: PROCESSOR-SDK-AM335X

Tool/software: Linux

Hello,

we are having some issues with controlling any timerX on the am335x,

I have opened a thread on beagleboard:

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/beagleboard/isNbiSe1q1Y

from the answer, it looks like we were messing around with the Linux driver beneath, but we cannot find any file system related device inside /sys/class.

The only reference on how to use the timers was from this forum and direct registers access was the most common practice.

I cannot find a reference on how to use these timers via Linux userspace and it looks like we cannot disable the timer drivers without recompiling the kernel.

Could you help us?

Does exist a way to use the timers via filesystem?

Thank you,

Leonardo Romor
