What are the things we can do to check a sign of life on a custom board?

On AM335x, I remember seeing "C"s printing over debug UART on a successful power-up but with no bootloader.

Is there a similar thing we can check?

AM57x devices do not output "CCC.." characters when UART boot mode is selected. Generally most of the guidelines from this wiki will also apply for AM57x devices: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../AM335x_board_bringup_tips You can also try to connect with a JTAG emulator or use AM57x BSDL files to validate the connectivity on board build.

The processor bootloader will print C to the UART debug port when no boot image is found.
