AM5728: EEPROM functionality

We refer to the AM5728 EVM schematic and designed our product, there is a EEPROM (U8) on the board, is the EEPROM is necessary? Can I remove this device?

Hello Morgan,

Please, see here and here what specific identity/configuration information the EEPROM contains. It is not mandatory to have an EEPROM on your board, if you will be able to hardcode these information in your U-Boot source code. To do so, please refer to this and this similar threads.
