Linux/AM4378: Qt4.8 support

Team,

One of my customers need support of QT4.8 on PSDK 04.02.00.09. Following should be sufficient or anything else needed to taken care of:

1. Add layer meta-qt4

2. Modify the processor-sdk-04.02.00.09-config.txt to get the meta-qt4 from:

git://git.yoctoproject.org/meta-qt4.git,morty,f389368dc86e745df14cab9eeb9a94bc02bd273e,layers=

3. Modify tisdk/sources/meta-arago/meta-arago-distro/conf/distro/arago.conf

to make QT_PROVIDER ?= "qt4"...

Please suggest. Or is it better to build QT4 from outside and include the QT4.8 libraries instead of Yacto ?

Hello Shiv,

I have successfully ported Qt 5.4.1 on PSDK 04.02.00.09 by using Yocto, but not tried to port Qt4.8. It is up to your customer to decide which method to use. The most familiar method to them would be the best. Here in this thread one customer has built qt everywhere out of the tree.

I have changed the meta-qt5 string in processor-sdk-04.02.00.09-config.txt and edited these recipes:

<tisdk>/sources/meta-arago/meta-arago-distro/recipes-qt/qt5/qtbase_%.bbappend
<tisdk>/sources/meta-arago/meta-arago-distro/recipes-qt/qt5/qtbase-conf_1.0.bb
<tisdk>/sources/meta-processor-sdk/recipes-qt/qt5/qtbase_%.bbappend
<tisdk>/sources/meta-processor-sdk/recipes-qt/qt5/qtbase-conf_1.0.bbappend
