Hi,

I would like to work on emulation setup, before connecting the A15 core0 the TMDSEVM572X turns off the board in seven seconds after power on.

To disable this what should i do, is there any PMIC control registers which i can access after connecting the A15 and make permanently enable PMIC on.

so that I won't face this issue regularly during my emulation set up.

hi,

I have gone through the EVM hardware guide and it is suggested that "Keep in mind the PMIC shutdown issue while connecting to the target cores. Due to the PMIC shutdown issue, users need to connect to A15_0 as soon as you push the power button to enable power to the SoC".

I want to know is there any register setting for to enable power on so as to remove the PMIC shutdown after 7secs.

You will want to write 1 to the "DEV_ON" bit in the PMIC. Should be I2C bus 1, device address 0x58, register address 0xA0.

hi,

In emulation setup, after connecting the target if we write 1 to the "DEV_ON" bit in PMIC, shall it make PMIC ON permanently.?

During next iteration when device is Powered ON and will device remain ON without shutdown after 7secs.?

Yes. If you insert an SD card with the SDK the software will do this for you. You can also connect J5 and this will permanently keep the PMIC on.

Hi,

thank you for the suggestion, but i need the solution for emulation setup.

SDK anyway it does and if connect we J5, it is mentioned in EVM hardware manual that temperature sensor won't monitor the temperature of AM572X. possibly it damages the board, so i won't take that risk.

I'm facing this in emulation setup, every time i need to connect A15 core0 before it shutdown, it is irritating and patience test task. so, i request you to suggest any control registers are available to enable it.

You should connect J5 and this will permanently keep the PMIC on. This will work for your emulation setup.
