66AK2L06: 66AK2L06 JESD204B DFE for 4x4 4TX x 4 RX

Part Number: 66AK2L06
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: RFSDK, TCI6630K2L

Hi Team,

We are using K2L in our project. We want to design a  Multiradio Board with 4TX 4RX interfaced to JESD (0-3) lanes of K2L. Can same lane be used to transit both I and Q signals for transmit. Will JESD (0-3) suffice to connect 4TX 4RX (4x4)  for K2L. What would be the maximum datarate and bandwidh in this configuration. We are using K2L with AFE chip from TI for 2x2 and also for 4x4 design

Regards,

Sumathi

  • Hello,
If you goto the RFSDK page, there are examples for 4Tx, and 4Rx using the TCi6630K2L and Direct Down/Up Conversion JESD transciever.
The RFSDK link and software download request is: "http://www.ti.com/tool/rfsdk "
The TCI6630K2L DFE User Guide is: " www.ti.com/.../spruhx8a.pdf"

Typically for 4Tx4Rx, you have one of two choices:

    - no Digital PreDistortion - each of the 4 JESD lanes has interleaved IQ F=4
The Tx or Rx data rate is 122.88e6 complex.

    - if Digital PreDistorion is used this is more complicated. The Transmit side is interleaved IQ F=4
The Receive Rx side is split into two sets (1) JESD lane with (2 complex stream) Rx interleaved IQ F=8, the second JESD lane is Feedback F=4.
The Tx or Feedback data rate is 122.88e6 complex. The data rate for Rx is 61.44e6.
