BEAGLEBK: Beaglebone Black USB Ethernet RNDIS detection on Windows 10

Part Number: BEAGLEBK

Hi all,

This problem only occurs on Windows 10. I had no issues on Windows 7. However, most of the PCs are running Windows 10 nowadays. So I post the question separately here to see if anybody had the same problem and had the solution as well.

The problem occurs when I start Beaglebone Black from USB peripheral mode. Windows 7 detects it as a "USB Ethernet RNDIS" network adapter device. However, Windows 10 detects it as a "USB serial" device automatically. I could not manually override the driver to be "USB Ethernet RNDIS".

Please help if you have a solution to this problem. Thank you in advance!
