AM3358: Why aren't MUSBMHDRC Registers Listed in Reference Manual?

The MUSBMHDRC registers in the reference manual (in the memory map, they're "USB0 Core" and "USB1 Core") are not listed. I would like to know why. I'm asking because IAR's register window doesn't show these registers, and the IAR support representative I'm speaking with believes this is because they are for internal use only. Is this true?

Hi Nicholas,

Access to the Mentor register set beyond what is documented in the TRM is not publicly available as it requires a special NDA with the IP owner.

Hi Pavel,

In the thread you linked, the OP signed the NDA with Mentor, but then had to come back to TI to ask for the full AM335x reference manual, however, it cuts off there. If I follow the same process, will you (TI) send me the full AM335x reference manual?

Please outline the need for the NDA version of the document. Recent changes to TI policies regarding NDA agreements have significantly restricted our ability to provide it externally.

Hi DK,

We (my company) are trying to write USB drivers for this processor. We have been using the generic MUSBMHDRC specification as a guide so far, however, we're seeing unexpected behavior that may be processor-specific. We would like to confirm this by reviewing the NDA version of this document.

Unfortunately TI doesn't support custom driver development. As such there is no "customer-friendly" document that would enable this activity. The document referenced above is simply the HW IP specification and not a programming guide. For our customers wishing to write drivers we recommend that they use the existing SDK offerings (RTOS or Linux) as a primer.
