TDA4VM: How to read core temperature and power consumption of TDA4???

PM Thermal library for TDA4 is not yet functional. This is because of an inaccuracy issue we have in the thermal sensor reads. When this is fixed and the library support for this is added, I'll let you know as soon as possible. But if this is urgent, I can guide you on how to query the core temperature using CSL after testing it on my side to give you a confidence on the accuracy. Please let me know the priority on this.

Yeah, this is really urgent. We have been waiting for this since last November, and this blocks our cooling design.

It cannot be better if you can guide me on how to query the core temperature using CSL.

Apologies for the late reply. Inside csl, refer the header file src/ip/vtm/V1/cslr_vtm.h. You can use the structures from here to access the VTM registers at VTM_BASE (For exact register values refer TDA4 TRM). You'll have to turn ON the temperature sensors, and to get the adcValue corresponding to a temperature from the DTEMP bit field in the TEMPSENS register. The driver support for this is still WIP as I had mentioned before. It is advisable that you use the driver instead doing the register hacks, but I just gave you a starting point since you mentioned the urgency. Please let me know if you have queries.

The present release has no support to read temperature either in Linux or RTOS.
The next release of RTOS will have some support to read temperature.
The driver is still work in progress.

The driver is not ready yet.

Although the sensor has some significant inaccuracies, you can find the way to convert the temperature sensor to temperature in the Technical Reference Manual that is available online ( SPRUIL1A–May 2019–Revised November 2019 ) Table 5 - 1897.

The section in TRM does not reflect the inaccuracies and i would recommend not to do any thermal
tests based on that and wait for our official releases and communication for the right samples to
do any thermal related tests.
