AM5716: UHS-I of SD card

Hi,

My customer would like to use UHS-I of SD card in AM5716. We think that voltage control by PMIC is necessary (3.3V-> 1.8V) to support UHS-I of SD card. Is it necessary to control other hardware blocks in AM5716?

Hello M.Ohhashi,

I am assuming that you are using Linux SDK.

You are right. Voltage switching is needed for UHS cards. (3.3V to 1.8V). But UHS support is not
present for any of the am57 family of SoCs.

The reason is stated in the following commit:

Thank you for your reply and the information.

my customer is developing their own board. Should they have added the ability to power cycle their boards using PORz / soft-reset to support UHS-I? Or any other work around? We would appreciate it if you would tell us any idea.

Hello Ohhashi-san,

Let this thread be specific to software support for UHS-I on AM57.
I request you to open a different thread for board design inputs
so that the right person from board team gives feedback.

Hope you can resolve this and open a new one for the board design inputs
to get UHS-I support.
