TDA4VM: Could PC communicate to A72 through CPSW9G?

Part Number: TDA4VM

Hi Experts:

I'm working on a custom board with TDA4VM.  I bypassed GESI board detect in "ethfw" so that it can run on our board.  I can see two "eth" in linux, one is CPSW2G and the other is CPSW9G. Both IP can be assigned manually, so far so good.but it have The following situations:

1,power on the board,first  try to ping A72's IP from PC,  timeout always happens.but  try to ping PC's IP from A72,it is ok,after that,try to ping A72's IP from PC,it is also ok。,

2,Reseat the network cable,It's the same as  power on

3,If Ping all the time, there will be no network failure, but After a long time without Ping,It's the same as  power on

My question is:

  1.  because i dont have GESI board,Is that the same situations with GESI board?
  2. How can I modify it so that they can ping each other with Any order

The PSDKRA version is 6.2. For more details, I attach log below.

Thanks.

  • Hi,

    1. It's not related to GESI board. This is a known ARP problem with PSDKRA 6.2 that will be fixed in next release version.

    2. This problem requires a new version of NDK package that will be part of next SDK release. For now, the workaround is the sequence that you mentioned worked for you.

Regarding observation #3, I think that would happen when DHCP lease expires, but it's still the same underlying ARP problem.
