AM6548: Stuck for ~20s during root log in with PSDK7

Part Number: AM6548

Customer reported with PSDK7 with PG2.0, there is ~20s latency when log in as root, there is not such issue on previous PSDK6.

there is not log information, just wait for ~20s to see response.

  • Hi Tony,

I will try to reproduce this but before i do that Just for my understanding when you 20S no response
that is after you get to root prompt? Typically Linux propmt takes about 15-20S. A boot log would be really
helpful to see what is happening.

    Best Regards,
    Keerthy

  • Hi Tony,

We are not seeing the issue at our end. Could you please try a different SD card?
Just to be sure that it is consistently reproducible on all SD cards.

    Best Regards,
    Keerthy

  • Keerthy,

Boot from SD card doesn't have this issue, but on eMMC does. They will compare the content, and post here.

  • Keerthy,

Customer confirmed with the same latest SDK, boot from eMMC has the delay issue, boot from SD card doesn't have the issue. would you please confirm on your side?

  • Tony,

This is independent of the eMMC issue reported in the separate post, correct? with DSS disabled you are seeing the same?

    Best regards

    Dave

Do you mean eMMC reboot issue? no relate to it. this is another issue.

DSS issue is during dss initialization, this is during log in. and if boot from SD card with the same file system and kernel, no issue, so I think it is not related to DSS.

  • Hi Tony,

When you say emmc boot, are you booting u-boot, kernel and rootfs from emmc?

Please share the instructions to reproduce the setup/issue at our end.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Sunita.
