CCS/PROCESSOR-SDK-DRA8X-TDA4X: Processor-SDK projects imported into CCS IDE but build with some errors

I am using TDA4 evaluation board EVM_J721E and I am trying to do MCU domain related development.

I started my development with research of SDK "ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j721e-evm-07_01_00_11". I tried to import the BIOS examples and build according to steps described in chapter 2 in "Bios_User_Guide.pdf", but I got some errors. see picture below for details:

What's wrong with my project? Is any option set incorrectly?

Addtionally, my CCS version:9.3.0.00012, running on Windows environment.

Hi,

In Processor SDK for TDA4 we do not have CCS project based projects, you need to build the application using Makefiles based project and then you can use CCS (https://software-dl.ti.com/jacinto7/esd/processor-sdk-rtos-jacinto7/latest/exports/docs/psdk_rtos/docs/user_guide/ccs_setup_j721e.html ) or bootloaders (https://software-dl.ti.com/jacinto7/esd/processor-sdk-rtos-jacinto7/latest/exports/docs/pdk_jacinto_07_01_00_45/docs/userguide/jacinto/family_cfg/jacinto/index_boot_jacinto.html and https://software-dl.ti.com/jacinto7/esd/processor-sdk-rtos-jacinto7/latest/exports/docs/psdk_rtos/docs/user_guide/developer_notes_bootloaders.html ) present in the SDK to load those applications.

If you can let me know what application from the SDK are you trying to run, I can give you more pointed steps on how to run that.

Hi Karan,

I am trying to import one of the driver example "sciserver_tirtos" in path "processor-sdk-rtos-j721e-evm-07_01_00_11/pdk_jacinto_07_01_00_45/packages/ti/drv". Then I have 2 questions:

1. Which project files should be imported into CCS IDE in Windows environment and which settings should I set in the project properties?

2. How to process the RTSC files?

Hi,

As I said CCS based projects are not supported in the SDK. The build system instead is makefile based.

Can you try to build the application from a linux machine (or VM) using the command:

cd <SDK_PATH>/pdk_jacinto_07_01_00_45/packages/ti/build

make sciserver_testapp -sj

This will build the sciserver_testapp_mcu1_0_release.xer5f at <SDK_PATH>/pdk_jacinto_07_01_00_45/packages/ti/binary/sciserver_testapp/bin/j721e.
