How to use XDS200 Mezzanine emulator separately.

Hi all,

My team has purchased a C6657 EVM board (TMDXEVM6657LS) which has XDS200 Mezzanine emulator on its TI-60 Header.

Our own C6657 board is being devloped based on the EVM board.

Is it possible to use XDS200 Mezzanine emulator separately? to use with our own C6657 board? Or Can it be only used with EVM board?

The JTAG interface of our own C6657 board is designed as following figure to interface XDS510 USB.

I would like to ask to review this circuit as well.

Hello Jongkap,

Yes, you can use XDS200 Mezzanine emulator separately on your custom board also. Since your custom design has 14 pin JTAG connector, you may need to populate J5 connector in the mezzanine emulator. Before populating this connector, i would like you to check whether J5 connector has JTAG interface, as the mezzanine emulator is proprietary one and we do not have the design files to verify this.

Hi Senthil,

I checked J5 whether it has JTAG interface as you said.

But it looks not an JTAG interface connector because even GND is not following 14-PIN JTAG connection. Or I guess some unplaced parts around J5 need to be populated with J5.

Can I get more information about XDS200 mezzanine emulator to use it with my custom board?

At present, i do not have further information on XDS200 mezzanine connector. I will try to get more details from our internal team and update you.

Meanwhile, you could check whether you have 60 pin to 14 pin JTAG adapter with you like the one in the below link to use on your custom board.
