Hi team,

I see that for EtherCAT the TLK105 is used on the AM5728 IDK board. Could the AM5728 EtherCAT functionality be used with the DP83848K PHY instead?

Hi,

DP83822 is the suggested replacement. It's pin-2-pin compatible to TLK105L.

The driver will work fine with DP83822. Pin #13, 15 and 24 are tri-state for DP83822, so you can either remove the decoupling caps on these pins or leave them.

DP83822 also has added strap mode for enabling Fast Link Drop in hardware instead of software. This allows you to eliminate the need for the EtherCAT Enhanced link detection, or allows for redundancy if you want to keep using it.
