AM335x touchscreen not working

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3352, TMS320C6746

Hi,

I have used AM3352 TSC for interfacing a resistive Touch panel. But while conducting EFT or burst test, LCD is working but touch screen not working. Touch screen stops working at 500V itself. Is there anything that has to be take care on connectivity of Touch panel to processor ? Is this related to power supply noise of VDDA_ADC?

Thanks,

Usha

  • Hi Biser,

I checked the link suggested in last communication. That is related to ESD testing. We are performing EFT Burst/Surge test on our design. Our design is based on AM3352 and DSP TMS320C6746.  Below mentioned is a brief on burst test we are conducting.

    Test voltage : 500V applied.

Result: When we apply burst signal>= +500V with L+N couppling touch screen is affected and stop working until power up.

    DSP continues to work.

    Test voltages :  3400V  applied.

Result: When we apply burst signal>= +500V with L+N couppling touch screen is affected and stop working until power up.

DSP stop to work at 3400V

After the DSP stop working, Linux is restarted after 2 minutes.

DSP not started until next power cycle.

Please suggest any solution for this issues. Is it related AM335x AINx pins??

    Thanks,

    Usha

  • Yes, you are seeing the same situation as described in the other thread. There is no software workaround for this case. You need to protect the AIN inputs externally.
