AM6548: MIPI CSI-2 daughter board

Part Number: AM6548

Hello TI Team,

I was going through the AM6548 GPEVM Product section & its accessories . I do not see any references to the camera daughter card (on MIPI CSI2) platform and its availability.

In one of the e2e thread Ti engineer mentioned camera daughter cards boards will be available in the future releases  https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors/f/791/t/814746

Does TI has any plans for the camera daughter card platform? If yes, When can we expect the camera daughter card platforms.

Thanks

Shajin

  • Hi Shajin,

I am not aware of any plans to release a camera module in the near future. Let me check with the marketing team to see what support is planned for supporting the CSI2 connector.

    Regards, Bill

  • Hi Shajin,

I did check with the marketing team and there are no plans to sell a camera module for the AM65x GPEVM. I'm sorry we can't support you with this.

    Regards, Bill

  • Thanks for the update Bill.

Yesterday I was going through the AM65xx SDK sources and found some references to ov5640 camera sensor being used in the AM65xx. Does this mean TI has tested the ov5640 sensor on the AM65xx GPEVM?

If the sensor was tested, Would you help us to obtain information on the ov5640 camera module part number used and schematics of adapter board. We will try to prepare a similar setup at our end and exercise camera.

The source files which i have referred inside the AM65xx SDK is as follows.

    Linux - arch/arm64/boot/dts/ti/k3-am654-evm-csi2-ov5640.dtso

    Linux - drivers/media/i2c/ov5640.c

    Thanks for your time.

    Shajin

  • Hi Shajin,

We have an internal board developed by Leopard Imaging based on the ov5640 camera sensor that we use for testing the interface. We worked with Leopard imaging on the interface and they are the best source for information on the sensor. As stated earlier this is an internal board and not available for purchase.

    Regards, Bill

  • Thanks for the info Bill. We will try to see if we get an ov5640 camera module from the vendor.

    Thanks for your time.

    Closing this thread. :)
