I am using AM5746ABZXA in my design with tow SDRAMs. Do I need to wired up both channels EMIF1 and EMIF2?

Hi,

I am not sure whether I understand your question.

Each EMIF instance (ex: EMIF1, EMIF2) requires unique SDRAMs. In other words, you cannot connect the same SDRAM to both EMIF1 and EMIF2.

You may also consider referring to the layout guidelines in the AM5746 datasheet, which may address your question.

On the AM5746, if we are using both cores, is it required to use EMIF1 and EMIF2. Our design currently only uses EMIF1

Hi Jose,

Both MPU cores have access to both EMIFs; thus, there is no requirement to use both EMIFs if using both MPU cores.
