DAC38RF83: Datasheet inquiry

Part Number: DAC38RF83

Dear Team,

My Customer would like to understand Table 4. SerDes PLL Modes Selection in datasheet.

It connects MPY hex value to actual multiplier. The default MPY value is 00010100 - it is 0x14 in hex. There's no such value in this table.
Looks like I should divide hex value in table by 2. Because if I use a default value in EVM GUI, I got x5 multiplier - it is 0x28 in table and 0x14 in EVM GUI
And so on for other values

Regards,

Renan

  • Hello Renan,

I have attached the image below to better illustrate the values found on Table 4. In the register map below (note that page addressing format is being used) we examine the the 8 bit register where the value for MPY is stored. As you noticed, the default value is 00010100 which is indeed 0x14 in hex however notice that 0x14 in hex is equal to 20 in decimal value representation. Thus, as referenced in the table the effect will by 4x. Using the GUI you can view the decimal  value representation of any registers in the top right corner as show below.

    Best,

    Kelvin
