AFE7071: delay time

Part Number: AFE7071

Hi, support team

My customer has the questions as follow:

What is the delay time from DA input to DA output?

Thanks so much.

Best regards,
Yuki

  • Hi Yuki,

Input to output delay/ latency is not specified for this device. I will check with the design team to see if they can help.

Is the customer interested in a specific mode of operation?

    Regards,

    Vijay

  • Hi Vijay,

Thanks so much for your kindly reply.

    Hope there're any useful information.

    Best regards,

    Yuki

  • Yuki:

The AFE707x device is an integrated DAC, programmable BB low-pass filter, and a quadrature modulator.  The traditional delay/latency type parameters are not easily measured on this type of integrated device.  Currently there is no specific data on sub-system latency on the DAC portion.

The DAC portion of the chip is similar in form to something like the DAC317x.  Latency through that type of DAC with the FIFO engaged is around 26 clock cycles.  The modulator portion of the chip is similar in form to the TRF3704.  The programmable filters introduce a delay that is dependent on the programmed corner frequency.  Unfortunately, we do not have the data to be more precise at this time.
