AFE7686: AFE7686 Support - Cellin

Part Number: AFE7686

CELLIN is considering designing a DPD PA module with the following configurations using the AFE7686.

  • REF_CLK = 368.64MHz
  • ADC sample rate =  2949.12MHz, DEC = 4, Data interface = 737.28MHz
  • DAC sample rate =  8847.36MHz, INT = 12, Data interface = 737.28MHz
  • JESD204B N=12 / TX = 11.0592Gbps / RX = 11.0592Gbps
  • 4T4R RF frequency = 3.84GHz TDD

Please advise configuration for this mode

  • For:

    • REF_CLK = 368.64MHz
    • ADC sample rate =  2949.12MHz, DEC = 4, Data interface = 737.28MHz
    • DAC sample rate =  8847.36MHz, INT = 12, Data interface = 737.28MHz
    • JESD204B N=12 / TX = 11.0592Gbps / RX = 11.0592Gbps
    • 4T4R RF frequency = 3.84GHz TDD

    Please see below for configuration:

    CellinAFE7686_44320Mode_11p2Gbps.cfg

  • The customer has further inquiries.

    1. They want to change the serdes lane settings as below. Could you please provide a sample configuration file?

    • REF_CLK = 368.64MHz
    • ADC sample rate =  2949.12MHz, DEC = 4, Data interface = 737.28MHz
    • DAC sample rate =  8847.36MHz, INT = 12, Data interface = 737.28MHz
    • JESD204B N=16 / TX = 14.7456Gbps / RX = 14.7456Gbps
    • 4T4R RF frequency = 3.84GHz TDD

     2. According to the AFE7686 datasheet below, the SCLK for Temperature sensor read is typical 1uS.

Is it okay to use 10MHz or higher as the SCLK for Temperature sensor read?

  • Regarding

    • REF_CLK = 368.64MHz
    • ADC sample rate =  2949.12MHz, DEC = 4, Data interface = 737.28MHz
    • DAC sample rate =  8847.36MHz, INT = 12, Data interface = 737.28MHz
    • JESD204B N=16 / TX = 14.7456Gbps / RX = 14.7456Gbps
    • 4T4R RF frequency = 3.84GHz TDD

    Please see configuration file below:

    CellinAFE7686_44210Mode_14p74Gbps.cfg

    Regarding

According to the AFE7686 datasheet below, the SCLK for Temperature sensor read is typical 1uS.

Is it okay to use 10MHz or higher as the SCLK for Temperature sensor read?

This will impact the accuracy of the temperature sensor reading and we cannot ensure the correct operation.
