AFE7950EVM: How to configure the data rate to 983.04MSPS, in AFE7950-EVM?

How to configure the afe7950 chip at data rate 983.04MSPS? The capture card (TSW14J57) configuration file AFE79xx-1x2Tx-42220, is not present in HSDC Pro.

Also if the file is provided, does it mean that only 2 of 4 DACs can be used, is there a way to use all 4 DACs and data rate to be at 983.04MSP?

Hi AK,

Using all 4 DACs with the data rate of 983.04MSPS is not possible with the TSW14J57 because of the lane rate limitation. The TSW14J57 only supports lane rates up to 15Gbps and the lane rate when you use all 4 DACs, at 983.04MSPS, is 19.6608Gbps.

Is this the limitation of TSW14J57, or that of AFE? Because for our particular application 4 channels, and data rate >800MSPS is required. So is it possible with AFE7950?

Hi AK,

The 15Gbps limitation in for the TSW14J56EVM not the AFE. The AFE supports data rates >800MSPS for 4 channels but a FPGA capable of supporting the required lane rate is required.
