AFE7950EVM: Latte Command for Serdes Eye not Responding

Hi,

I find that the libraries associated with the serdes, dsa, agc and so on, are placed in AFECLibs in CAFE folder, and the neither the setup or the devinit actually instantiate the C coded blocks. Can you kindly help us to identify the process of using these C libraries for debugging purposes.

Hi Dhruva,

The C libraries are already instantiated after opening the GUI and running setup and devInit. To use C functions in the AFE79xx GUI you can do CAFE.FunctionName() in the command line. Please note that this only works when using the latest version of the GUI, which is available in the AFE79xx secure folder.

Hi David,

Can I use the CAFE.getSerdesEye(#chipID, #lane) command in a standalone fashion, it is causing a data dump on the terminal but no plot of an eye. Any solutions?

I am running the default config of mode 7 with TSW14J57 EVM.

Also I am referring to the Latte User Guide and modifying it according to the code in the libs.

Hi Dhruva,

This function does not plot the eye. The getSerdesEye will output the data, array with 3135 elements and scaling factor of the ber, which will need to be plotted manually using a script.

What values does the array of 3135 elements contain? and is there any script that you can provide for plotting the same.

or kindly elaborate on the process of plotting these 3135 elements.

Hi Dhruva,

After checking with the team it seems that we already have a function that will allow you to plot the eye diagram using the ber and extent data that you received from the previous function.

Please use the CAFE.plotSerdesEyeData(berArray, extentValue) function.
