AFE7950: AFE7950:Related to ADC and DAC Matching Networks

Hi, 

I would like to inquire about the matching network configuration of AFE7950 inputs and outputs.

  1. The DAC output frequency to be used is from 3.25GHz to 3.75 GHz.
    Can you provide a matching network suitable for the dac output frequency ? 

        2. The DAC output frequency to be used is from  0.8GHz to 1.3 GHz
            Can you provide a matching network suitable for the dac output frequency ?     

        3. The ADC & FB input frequency to be used is from 2.4GHz to 2.5GHz.
            Can you provide a matching network suitable for the ADC & FB input frequency ?  

        4. What is the frequency band of the matching network applied to ADC and DAC in the AFE7900EVM_DesignFile (DC135A_AFE7900EVM_Sch.pdf)?
           Please let me know by TX/RX/FB channel.

        5. Can you provide a matching network used in the different bands shown on page 20 of the afe7950 datasheet?

  • Hi Kim,

    We are working on putting together a document that contains the matching circuits used for the AFE7950 datasheet measurements. 

    In regards to your question #4: 

    4. The AFE7900EVM has four different matching circuits. TxA and RxA are matched for 5.4GHz. TxB, RxB, and FB1 are matched for 500MHz. TxC and RxC are matched for 2.5GHz. TxD, RxD, and FB2 are matched for 1.8GHz.

    We purchased both AFE7920 and AFE7950 and are continuing to test.

    1. When can I get an answer to question #5 above?

            2. Regarding the answer to question number #4
                Can the matching network applied to AFE7900 be applied to AFE7950?

            3. What is the frequency band of the matching network applied to ADC and DAC in the AFE7900EVM_DesignFile (DC150A_AFE7950EVM_Sch.pdf)?
               Please let me know by TX/RX/FB channel. 

            4. Regarding the questions #2, 3, 4 above
                Could you tell me how to calculate the matching network value of the output frequency band we want to use?
                 Also, could you tell me how to test this matching network that was actually configured using the instrument?
