Hi TI team,

I have two questions about the DAC of AFE7950:

1) When i run the TI_IP_10Gbps_8Lane_ConfigLmk.py and related FPGA programs, i can test the output signal.But i don't the relationship between the output signalfrequency and the single tone signal frequency generated by FPGA? and what's the single tone signal frequency? Input an FM signal with a certain bandwidth, how about the output? frequency? bandwidth?

2) Besides request TI-JESD-IP(The application process takes too long time), can you provide a demo to use AMD JESD204 IP?

Hi Xiao,

By default the FPGA is generating a 64 point sine wave resulting in the DAC output frequency equal to NCO + DataRate/64. The reference design has a data rate of 491.52MSPS so the output is NCO + 7.68MHz.

An email was sent to you with the request form. If you can send back the filled out form then we can grant you access to the TI-JESD-IP.

I want to know the frequency of 64 point sine wave which generated by FPGA?

Hi Xiao,

The frequency of the sine wave generated by the FPGA is equal to the AFE datarate/64.

thanks for you reply.

The ouput signal frequency is only related to NCO and AFE datarate? Could I understand that?

If I replace the sine wave with an FM signal(20MHz bandwidth), Is the output signal frequency unaffected?

Hi Xiao,

This is only for the CW that we provide by default. We are sending a sine wave at the datarate and since it is a 64 point sine wave this equate to a tone, with a frequency of datarate/64, being sent to the DAC. If you replace the 64 point sine wave with a FM signal and sent this to the DAC then you will get the FM signal + NCO out of the DAC.
