AFE7950: Excel Spreasheet of SYSREF calculation

Part Number: AFE7950
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE7900EVM

As mentioned in section 9.3.6 of datasheet of AFE79xx, an Excel spreadsheet to calculate possible SYSREF frequencies is available from TI. I failed to find it after searching over TI's website.

Please provide me with the excel spreadsheet. Thank you,

  • Hi Khagesh,

We currently recommend to use the SYSREF frequency that is calculated by latte when the bringup script is run as you can see in the image below.

  • Hi,

we tried to install TI-AFE79xx-Latte_V2p0p7-installer.exe but it has only AFE79xx name tool. it dose not have Latte- which you mentioned above.

we want to know the frequency of SYSREF for the following parameters.
    DAC sampling Rate: 11.52 GSPS
    DAC DUC : 150 MSPS
    Lane rate: 6Gbps

  • Hi Khagesh,

The AFE79xx is the Latte tool. Sorry for the confusion. We changed the name in our latest update.

When you run a bringup file the tool will calculate the corresponding SYSREF frequency. If it is your first time using it you can follow the AFE7900EVM_TSW14J58_Bringup guide in the secure folder where you downloaded the .exe to get started and just run in simulation mode by not having the EVM connected.

We could also do this for you if you can provide the following information about your desired mode aside from the information you already provided:

    1. If you are using the RX or FB channels what are the sampling rates and decimation factors for each?
    2. For the TX channel, you are using a sampling rate of 11.52 GSPS, what is your interpolation factor? Are you using 60 to get 192MHz interface rate?
    3. What are your K (# of frames per multiframe) and F (# of octets per frame) for the TX, RX and FB links?

    Best,

    Camilo
