AFE7900EVM: RX Channel Inputs Significantly Attenuated, Frequency Mismatch

Part Number: AFE7900EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE7900

Tool/software:

Hi TI,

I am attempting to check the performance of the 4 RX channels on the AFE7900 EVM in real mode and I am getting either no signal/just noise or significantly attenuated input with the wrong frequencies on AFE CGui_CGui_Custom_GUI FFT output.

I am using 320 MHz input that is +1.5 dBm into the board input - confirmed on spectrum analyzer. This input is recognized by CHC but the min/max of the codes on Tab A are only around +/- 1100. The FFT plot shows that the Fin is at 700 MHz and at -28 dBFS, even though I have DDC bypassed. The DSA is set to zero. Are there any other settings that need to be checked? We brought it up in default mode.

CHC Codes

For CH A, B, D - I am getting basically noise out of them. The codes are +/- 30 or 40 at most, and I see no change between RF ON and RF OFF. Is it safe to assume that these are broken? Are there other enabling settings to check - the GUI indicates they are all enabled. The current draw from the 5.5V supply for the AFE is almost 3A.

Thanks,

Christina
