  • Hi Mr. Chen,

You will have to run setup.py, then devInit.py, then your bring up Python configuration script. Please do not copy setup.py and devInit.py from older versions of Latte.

Please see below for some instructions in getting set up with Latte 2.5:

    1. When you open Latte, you can check that Latte recognizes the EVM and the FPGA by clicking View -> USB Handles in the upper left.

You will hopefully see a screen like this if Latte can recognize your EVMs:

If you do not see these, please ensure that you turn on your FPGA and AFE EVMs before opening Latte. It is generally a good idea to wait about 15 seconds after you turn on your FPGA and AFE EVMs before opening Latte. You can also check in Windows device manager to see if you see the following USB Serial Converters (A,A,B,B,C,C,D,D). If you do not see this in device manager, please check your USB connection between your PC and your EVMs.

    2. Once you verify that your PC is recognizing the EVMs, open AFE79xx\bringup in the sidebar:
    3. Open setup.py. For AFE7921, please change chipVersion in setup.py to 0x13 (0x20 is default). Then, run setup.py by either clicking F5 on your keyboard or clicking Run -> Buffer in the top left.

After running this, in the log (bottom left), you should see the following output:

    4. Open devInit.py and run this file in the same way.

After this, if you look in the log, you should see:

    5. Now, you can run your bring up script. After the bring up script runs, you should hopefully see the following output at the very end:
    6. At this point, the device is brought up and ready to be used. You can navigate to the usefulFunctions.py script to try sending some tones:

Hope this helps you get started with Latte. Please let me know if you run into any issues or have any questions!

    Thanks,

    Aman

  • We don't have any EVM.we just want to generate the config file to our Embedded Engineer to config out AFE7921

  • Hi Mr. Chen,

I saw on the other post that you were able to generate the configuration. May I close this forum post so we can focus on your new questions on the JESD204? Thank you
