AFE7906: Power dissipation calculation

Hi Texas, 

Regarding part number AFE7906, inside its datasheet there are some power dissipation estimations with some fix modes.

We are planning on using a different operation mode: 4R, Fadc = 3 GSPS, DDCrx = 48x, 8b/10b, 10Gbps, 1-8-16-1-0 and output resolution 16.

Is there a power calculator or a similar tool, that can help us to improve our thermal design?

    Hi Anna,

    When using the AFE79xxEVM and Latte software you can use the PowerCard to monitor the current on each of the rails. You can open the PowerCard by double-clicking ‘PowerCard’ in the Instrument List, picture is shown below. When the PowerCard is open you can press the ‘Get Currents’ button to receive the current measurement for each rail.
