Tool/software:

Hello

I am currently using the AFE79xx GUI software in conjunction with the AFE7950EVM evaluation board and the TSW14J58EVM for my experiments. During the process of running the setup script, I encountered the following error message:

#Executing .. AFE7950/bringup/setup.py

#Start Time 2024-11-17 18:47:32.124000

#Error: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xb0 in position 6: ordinal not in range(128)

I have tried running the setup on several different computers, but the result remains the same. Could you please advise on how to resolve this issue?

  • Hi,

This is not an error we have seen before so we are checking internally with our software team.

One thing that can be tested while we check on this is to uninstall the GUI software, including deleting the folder in both the documents and programs folder, then reinstall the software.  Can you try this on your side?

    Regards,

    David

  • Hi,

One other thing that could cause an issue like this is the system character encoding. In the AFE79xx GUI software can you enter the following 'sys.stdin.encoding' in the command line and report what is printed in the log window?
