AFE7950EVM: NOT GETTING AFE_LOCKS (QPLL0, RX_BUFFER_RELEASE) ON VIVADO (ZCU102)?

Part Number: AFE7950EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE7950

Tool/software:

I have 2 FPGA's of same version (ZCU102).I am checking whether( AFE7950) is working on both ZCU102's or not? With 1 ZCU102 board, i am able to see the QPLL0_LOCKED, RX_BUFFER_RELEASE in Vivado. And they are getting (3,49)values respectively, but on the other ZCU102 unit, i am unable to get QPLL0  also. On the AFE board, the PLL_LOCKED LED is ON after completion of LMKprogram.py ,but i am unable to get QPLL0_LOCKED in vivado. i mapped the reset pins to LED 's on vivado and they are being applied. But i am unable to get the value in QPLL0_LOCKED ?May i know the reason behind it? And what parts on the VIvado are responsible to get a value in QPPL0_Locked?

  • Hi Dharani,

Is the same reference design being used on both ZCU102s and is the same FMC connector being used? The QPLL is the transceiver PLL and will lock if we provide the frequency, set in the Vivado Transceiver Wizard. If you are seeing the QPLL lock we are either not providing a clock or the correct frequency.
